Frequently asked questions

Answers about your account, how tests are checked, plans and payments, and live tests.

Account

How do I create an account?

Go to Create account, enter your name, email and a password, and choose the exam you are preparing for. It is free and takes under a minute.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the Sign in page, choose "Forgot password?" and enter your email. You will receive a link to set a new password.

Can I change my name, mobile number or target exam?

Yes. Open My dashboard and go to Profile. Your email address is your sign-in ID and cannot be changed there. Write to us if you need it changed.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Tests run in your browser on a laptop or desktop computer. Practise with a physical keyboard, because the real exam is typed on one. Your phone works for checking results and your dashboard.

Tests and scoring

Is this the same screen as the real exam?

The test screen follows the layout of computer-based typing skill tests: the passage on top, the typing box below, a countdown timer, and no copy, paste or right-click. Exams that do not allow backspace have it locked, just like on the day.

How are mistakes counted?

We follow the SSC evaluation method. A wrong, missing or extra word is a full mistake. A spacing error, a wrong capital letter or wrong punctuation is a half mistake.

Your error percentage is the full mistakes plus half of the half mistakes, divided by the number of passage words you attempted.

How is net speed calculated?

Gross speed is the characters you typed divided by 5, per minute. Net speed takes your errors per minute (full mistakes plus half of the half mistakes) away from gross speed. Net speed is what your exam's WPM standard is compared with.

What are key depressions per hour?

The SSC CGL Data Entry Speed Test measures key depressions: every character you type, including spaces. The standard of 8,000 key depressions per hour is the same as 2,000 in the 15-minute test.

What if time runs out before I finish the passage?

The test submits itself when the timer ends. Words you had not reached are not counted as mistakes. They are shown faded on your answer sheet.

Can I retake a practice session?

Yes, as many times as you like. Each attempt gets its own answer sheet, and the session tile shows your best net speed.

Why was my attempt not saved?

Attempts faster than 200 WPM, or where a large block of text arrives within seconds, are rejected. This stops auto-typers and scripts and keeps live test ranks fair. Type the test by hand and it will be saved.

Plans and payments

What is free and what needs a plan?

The first 2 sessions of every exam are free, along with live tests that are open to everyone. A paid plan unlocks every session of every exam and the live tests reserved for paid members.

What does a paid plan unlock?

Every practice session of every exam on the platform, all live tests including those reserved for paid members, and unlimited retakes. Both paid plans unlock the same content. They differ only in how long they last and how you pay.

Which payment methods can I use?

UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and popular wallets, through Razorpay. The monthly plan uses UPI Autopay, a card or an e-mandate so it can renew each month.

How does the monthly plan renew?

The 30-Day Pro Pass renews through Razorpay every month until you turn off auto-renew in your dashboard under Plan and billing. You keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for.

What happens if I buy again before my plan ends?

The new days are added on top of your current plan, so you never lose days you have already paid for.

Money was deducted but my plan is not active. What now?

Most payments activate within a few minutes. If yours has not, contact us with the Razorpay payment ID from your bank or UPI app and we will activate it. Payments that fail at the bank are returned automatically, as explained in our refund policy.

Live tests

What is a live test?

A mock typing test that opens on a fixed date and time for everyone. All candidates type the same passage, get one attempt, and are ranked together once results are published.

How is my rank decided?

By net speed first. When net speed is equal, higher accuracy ranks higher, then less time taken. Candidates with the same net speed and accuracy share a rank. Your percentile is the share of candidates at or below your rank.

Can I take a live test twice?

No. Each candidate gets one attempt per live test, as in the real exam. Practice sessions can be retaken as often as you like.

I missed a live test. Can I still take it?

Not after its window closes, because ranks are only fair when everyone takes the test in the same window. Watch the live test schedule for the next one.

When are live test results published?

Results for all candidates are published together after the test window closes. You then see your rank, percentile and answer sheet in your dashboard, and the leaderboard goes live.
